Homeowners often convert a freestanding tub to a walk-in shower for easier entry, more open floor space and a layout that is simpler to clean. This project replaced a freestanding tub with a glass enclosed walk-in shower.
The bathroom had a freestanding tub with a floor mounted tub filler and handheld sprayer. A ceiling hung oval rod held the shower curtain.
The tub is now a walk-in shower with large blue marble look tile on the walls, a built-in niche and a glass enclosure with a sliding door. The fixtures have a gold tone finish, and the shower has a linear drain and mosaic floor tile.
In general, a conversion includes removing the tub, adjusting the plumbing and drain, waterproofing the shower area, setting the tile, and installing the glass and fixtures. The exact scope depends on your bathroom, and we confirm it with you in writing.

We absolutely hated the freestanding tub that came with our house. It was a pain to clean around, the wrap around curtain rod looked messy, and we never actually used it. We finally hired Juda Builders to tear it out and build a walk-in shower in its place, and the transformation is unbelievable.
The craftsmanship is honestly incredible. We went bold with huge blue onyx patterned slab tiles on the walls and gold hardware, and their tile team executed it flawlessly. The grout lines are tight, the built-in niche is perfectly centered, and the frameless sliding glass door moves like butter. I was nervous about the plumbing since they had to completely change the drain setup from the old tub, but the crew handled the subfloor work with zero issues. They showed up early every day, covered our floors to keep the dust down, and cleaned up before leaving. It feels like walking into a luxury boutique hotel bathroom now. It wasn't cheap, but the quality was 100% there. I highly recommend them!
